The Mission of the Southport Methodist Circuit is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by inspiring, encouraging, resourcing and enabling the people and churches of the Circuit to serve and transform their communities and the wider world.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement and the Methodist Church is a major partner in this initiative.

This A6-sized booklet contains nine reflections and prayers written by the President-Designate of the Methodist Conference, the Revd Michaela A Youngson. It also includes images from the Methodist Modern Art Collection. The booklet can be used between Ascension and Pentecost and at other times of the year and is ideal to give away.

Read and Reflect:

Reading the Bible is important but so is living it.  It is not just discovering what the Bible has to say to us but applying it so that we and the world may be transformed.

Give thanks

Sometimes our hearts overflow with thankfulness.  At other time it can be a discipline to look beyond our situation and offer thanks to God.

Pray

Prayer is foundational and transformational in Christian life.  Prayer is a conversation with God, it is waiting on God – both in listening and serving.

Keep silence

Silence is a rare commodity.  Silence may not be the absence of God’s voice, but rather, a more intimate language by which God communicates with us.

Act

We are called to live out our faith in our daily work and in our local communities.  Every act of love, justice and peace is a taste of how God’s world is meant to be.
