The Living Room

@ The Soup Kitchen

The Living Room started in Southport in 2014. It was the vision of Tina Powsey, a Lay Employee appointed by Southport Methodist Circuit, who felt that God was calling the church to provide, a safe space for men and women, who may be homeless or facing difficulties in life.

We meet each Tuesday morning between 11 am and 1 pm, offering tea, toast and a listening ear to all that come. It is important to the group that we have a time of Christian Reflection, this is usually led by those who serve and varies in style but always includes an opportunity to share in prayer. A short Communion Service is held every six weeks, which is led by one of the Circuit Ministers. We meet in the Soup Kitchen, 75 London Street, Southport PR9 0TX. Anyone is welcome to drop in or stay for longer – there is always a welcome.

The volunteers are drawn from Churches across Southport. Those who minister at the Living Room, feel it is we who are the ones who are blessed. It is a great privilege. Please hold us in your prayers.
